Digital signage today not only includes vinyl banners but also LED signs and digital slides to display information such as business hours, promotions, messages, and other relevant content. The challenge is not just creating the right content to catch the attention of passersby and visitors but also designing vinyl banners and other digital signage that will help bring new customers to your business.
Here are some helpful tips that you could use when you start creating content for your digital signage and the more traditional vinyl banner.
When thinking about content, keep in mind that the text should be brief and short enough so passersby can immediately see it even if just for a short while. If you can, try focusing on a single idea or list and do it clearly. Use a different medium or vinyl banner to promote another product or idea if you must to avoid confusing the readers. The text should also be large and visible enough so even those from a distance can still read and understand the message. Colors of the text should contrast well to make it readable.
For digital content, consider the dwell time that people have to spend when reading your material. Screens and signs should be displayed long enough that people actually get to read them. There’s no use displaying information that scrolls too quickly that no one can really read it.
When choosing graphics, make sure that they are big and bold enough to be seen even from a distance. Graphics and images are also better methods of communicating messages because readers can instantly see what you are trying to say, instead of reading a vinyl banner that is text-heavy that the reader ends up getting confused without understanding a thing.
For digital slides, PowerPoint is a helpful tool to begin with. You can start creating content on MS PowerPoint then just take it to your local digital signage manufacturer so they work on it immediately. This is especially ideal for first-time content creators as the transition from a standard slide creator to a more powerful and specialized one is easier and more comfortable for them.
Pre-printed or custom vinyl banners are also available for those who do not have the budget to produce more advanced digital signage. Your local vinyl banner manufacturer should be able to help you out with everything you need – whether it’s choosing the graphics, laying it out, or creating the text to be displayed.

Vinyl Banner Disappears, Event Organizer Offers Charity Reward If Found
Here’s a nice news bit for you. A specially made vinyl banner which was advertising a new fair recently disappeared in a town called Ross-shire, located somewhere in the Highland Council Area in Scotland. The mysterious disappearance of the vinyl banner prompted its event organizer, a lady named Kristy Anderson, to offer a charity reward to anyone who finds it and hands it to her.
The reward, which will be converted to a donation for charity, will be given to anyone who has information about the distinctive 3x2ft vinyl banner which was recently used to plug the previous weekend’s event at Dingwall Community Centre. Unfortunately, the vinyl banner disappeared outside Dingwall, somewhere close to the Cromarty roundabout.
The custom banner sign, which costs a total of 120GBP for two, was designed by Anderson. She put it on display as early as 8:30am to advertise the event. By 2:30pm, she noticed that it was already gone. Disappointed, Anderson immediately reported the thievery of the vinyl banner to the police. She is hoping that a good soul bring it back as it was her first fair in Dingwall, thus the advertising with the vinyl banner. She was utterly disappointed but she is offering a charitable donation to anyone who finds the stolen vinyl banner and returns it to her.
The local fair organized by Anderson in Dingwall aims to gather all sellers who merchandises goods such as jewelry, knitwear, collectibles, and more. Anderson is one of the many who sells knitwear. She may be disappointed with the turn of events for the first fair she organized but she will definitely organize another one come December 3, Saturday, at the National Hotel in Dingwall.
Vinyl banners are inexpensive advertising tools that small and local businesses can use to market their products and services. This is certainly sad news but it goes to show that event organizers do value their signage as it helps them greatly in their business.

There are basic design tips to make effective vinyl banner signs and this is what this post is all about. Read on to find out what simple ideas you can use when designing a vinyl banner.
- Aim for an easy read. A vinyl banner often contains company details, products, and other relevant information, which means that people have to read it as clearly as possible. A vinyl banner sign should therefore be visible enough so people can easily read it. Big, bold fonts and a big space should be enough when designing a large custom vinyl banner.
- For indoor banner signs, shy away from bright colors. In fact, colors should be kept at a minimum to avoid people from being distracted and losing focus on what the focal point is. Try sticking with two colors. It would be better to use light shades then match them with stylish and dramatic fonts for a more impressive effect.
- Should you decide to use bright colors, use them sparingly. Sure, they can easily attract customers but you don’t want negative attention to your business, don’t you? Don’t overuse them or you might end up turning off potential customers.
- When selecting a layout shape for the canvas of your vinyl banner, think about indirect proportionality: a shorter canvas is better with long rows of texts while a longer canvas will look best with short texts.
- To avoid readers being distracted with your custom vinyl banner, simply choose one element to highlight and focus everything else around it. Whether it is a picture, a word, or a phrase, keep it interesting by simplifying everything else while emphasizing a single component of the banner sign.
Stick to the design basics and you will see that readers will be interested in what you have to say and offer. Two words are needed when designing a vinyl banner: useful and readable – focus on these two and you will easily see a growth in your business with the help of a banner sign.

Vinyl Banner Ideas for Churches and Other Religious Institutions
Whoever
said that vinyl banners exist solely for advertising purposes? While
it’s true that the main function of a vinyl banner is to market products
and services, these signage materials can also be used for many other
reasons. Some establishments invest in vinyl banners to announce special
promotions and business hours. Aside from business establishments,
religious institutions are now starting to realize the value of
displaying vinyl banners on their places of worship.
Here are a few suggestions that can maximize the use of vinyl banners in places of worship such as churches, chapels, and more.
Vinyl banners are inexpensive as compared to other forms of digital advertising. They can be reused for the following year or for any time that the event takes place again, allowing more funds to be saved for more important causes.
Here are a few suggestions that can maximize the use of vinyl banners in places of worship such as churches, chapels, and more.
- Mass schedules – Nowadays, even places of worship have their own websites where they display helpful information such as mass schedules. Aside from putting the schedules on the website, a vinyl banner is also a great tool to display this information. Passersby can easily see the times that services are available. Additionally, for instances that mass times are modified to give way to special occasions, a vinyl banner can easily put the message across with a large audience reach.
- Monthly activities – Religious institutions are very active when it comes to monthly activities. From charitable events to leadership seminars, a vinyl banner can be used to spread the message quickly and effortlessly.
- Holiday greetings – Celebrate the holidays by giving out a warm message to the members of the congregation using vinyl banners. Use festive images for a truly holiday-inspired custom vinyl banner which you can also reuse for the following year.
- Mission and vision – By displaying the church’s mission and vision with a vinyl banner, churchgoers, and even passersby, are constantly reminded of the purpose of the institution. It also serves as an invitation for outsiders to become a member of your community.
- Call to action statements – Use pre-printed vinyl banners to display bible verses, inspirational quotes, or any causes that your church supports. With a wider reach, more and more individuals will be encouraged to participate and do goodwill towards others.
